Sprint breaks from the pack, packaging unlimited voice, mobile web, navigation, and text messaging (as well as the iDEN-based Walkie Talkie for Sprint's Nextel customers) for the same price as the competitor's voice plans.
HD-DVD loses the war after Toshiba leaves the business; Microsoft clears out XBOX 360 HD-DVD drives for $50 each while they last.
BlackBerry maker Research In Motion files patent for slider-style and touchscreen equipped BlackBerry handheld, possibly part of the upcoming 9000 series handhelds. The depicted device includes the highly applauded "pearl" trackball and possibly HSDPA and WiFI wireless technologies.
